Malawi,

Day 1
Arrive at the International airport in Lilongwe. Makomo Representative will meet you and
transfer you to Kumbali Country Lodge, a picturesque spot overlooking
a quaint dairy farm.
Day 2 - 4
On day 2, an early morning flight to Mfuwe, South - Luangwa National Park in Zambia.
Upon arrival clear customs and you will be met by representative of Kafunta for transfer to the Lodge. Safari activities consist
of game drives, night drives & walks. One may indicate what kind of
safaris you would like to do each day.
Day 5
Transfer to the Viphya Plateau (
this takes 7 - 8 hours ) where you will stay at Luwawa
Forest Lodge. The lodge has a perfect forest setting and overlooks the
Luwawa Dam which is well stocked with fish (
fishing in season is permitted ). Optional activities include:
Rock climbing and abseiling from the local inselbergs, sailing and kayaking,
bird watching safaris, night drives, cultural experiences in remote villages,
fishing, squash, table tennis, sundowners at local mountainpeaks,
guided walks and mountainbiking.
Day 6 - 8
From Viphya you drive to Nyika National
Park (about 5 hours), where the high montane
grasslands rise above the bushveld and wetlands
of Vwaza Marsh. Covering more than 4000 sq.km
these two protected areas have the finest scenery, wildlife and wilderness
to be found in the country. Discover
Day 9
This morning drive to Tukuyu in southern Tanzania.
Overnight at Tukuyu Landmark Hotel. Rungwe boasts numerous natural attractions. Volcanic mountains, beautiful crater lakes
and green valleys make it a hikers paradise. Being the greenest and one
of the most fertile areas in the country, this is where the famous Rungwe
tea prospers which will be visited.
Day 10
Old Farm House in Iringa, Kizolanza Farm some 50 km outside Iringa is a relatively cool
place to spend the night. Overnight in Chalets with open fires. Restaurant
offers good meals.
Day 11
After breakfast, continue to Ruaha National park, and check in at Ruaha
river Lodge..
Day 12 -13
Ruaha National Park,
in total three game-drives by Makomo car with one walking-safari (organised through Ruaha National
Park headquarter's), overnight in the Ruaha River Lodge.Ruaha N.P. is Tanzania's
2nd biggest park. Wildlife
is concentrated along the cascading Great
Ruaha River that is
the park's lifeblood.
Day 14
Drive 6 hrs back to Mikumi National Park, and enjoy a late afternoon game-drive by Makomo car.
Overnight in Vuma Hills Tented Camp.
Day 15
An "expedition" through Uluguru Mountains
to Selous Game Reserve , which is, depending on the river, a journey of
about 8 -9 hours. A beautiful drive through rivers, villages, small bridges
and the tropical forest of Uluguru Mountains. Oovernight in Sable Mountain Lodge.
Day 16
Today we enter Selous Game Reserve, for a full day
of game-drives by Makomo car. Overnight at Selous Wilderness
Camp. The Reserve provides shelter for most of Tanzania's largest elephant
population, large herds of buffalo, crocodile, hippo, a variety of 440 species of birds and over 2000 variety
of plants. Lions and leopards are also present together with one of the
greatest predators of Africa, the African wild dog.
The park probably holds the largest concentration of this endangered animal,
which hunts, in large packs and with the reputation of being among the
most formidable predators.
Day 17
Selous Game Reserve, overnight at Selous Wilderness Camp. You will enjoy a boat
safari and in the afternoon a game drive.
Day 18 -20
Flight from Selous to Mafia Island, Overnight Kinasi
Lodge, a nicely located Lodge with Chalets facing the Ocean.
It is an ideal place to organize your Diving & Snorkeling activities.
Day 21
Flight from Mafia to DIA and transfer to Royal Palm Moevenpick. Relax before
your trip home.
Day 22
Early morning transfer to Airport for flight home.
End of Makomo Service.
